The Sacred Hoop - Picture Book

 I finally got to see the finished book so here are a few photographs to give you an idea of the end product, which will be put up for the final show exhibition of my extended diploma course together with the work of 500 other students.
I am not completely satisfied with the job the printing company did and they charged a ridiculous price on top of that, so I am now looking out for online companies which are cheaper and more reliable. If you have any suggestions I'd be very happy to read them! c:
I am still looking very much forward to the opening night of the exhibition at the 23rd of may which also will be the last time for all the people of my course to get together. I think it will be a nice endling of those two years.

The Sacred Hoop W.I.P. III

 

Okay, last w.i.p. post for this project. c:

It's been some pretty stressful weeks but now all the pages are done and lettered and at the print office already, just waiting to get transformed into an actual book. I'll be collecting it on monday and really can't wait to get my hands onto it.

  

 

 

 

 

Character Design

These are the main characters of my story. Little frightened Amelia, haunted by nightmare monsters....

and the old, wise Indian guy...well it certainly looked like a guy in the initial sketch but now it looks more like an old lady doesn't it.....? :/
Oh well, it doesn't really matter anyway I guess..but would be interesting to know - What do you think? Man or Lady?

This project will be a lot experimenting with combining traditional and digital work. There is just something about those textures and layering aesthetic I absolutely adore but I still want to keep the handmade feeling of my work.
