New Businesscards

I have new businesscards!! *-* And I love them very much..(I almost don't want to give them away..)
They're foldable ones and look well pretty.
If you want one just order anything in my DaWanda-Shop and you'll get one for free. You probably need to hurry though, I only made a few and at the Arts Fair last weekend they were flying off the table...

Also a note for my lovely German followers:
Ich werde bald wieder in Deutschland sein - wenn ihr also bis einschließlich Montag nächster Woche etwas in meinem Onlineshop bestellt und bezahlt, kann ich es von dort abschicken, was die Versandkosten drastisch reduziert. :) Überlegt es euch!

Outside and inside design.

Fairy Tale Bookmarks

Hello everyone! :)

I created four fairy-tale inspired black and white illustrations as part of my application for a very wonderful job. I liked them so much that I decided to colour them and then someone pointed out that they'd serve brilliantly as bookmarks so I made some which are on sale on my new opened DaWanda Online Shop. :)
Maybe some of you will find something there they like, I'm grateful about every single customer.^^

Oh and amazingly I managed to get that job too.
So I'll be the illustrator of this year's 'Sting in the Tale' brochure for Dorset's big Storytelling festival. Pretty exciting, I'm delighted.♥
That means I have to create up to 35 illustrations similar to these within the next 1 1/2 week which will be quite a challenge but I'm well on my way I guess ..(I hope..)

I hope you like them. :)
Personally I'm obsessed with fairy tales and just recently have really gotten into the Swedish ones which have their completely own charm. These ones are based on the German tales I grew up with (or at least the German Grimm's versions of them). Can you guess which ones?

Take care, Anja

Three Pixies

The other day I felt like drawing some pixies.

This is what most of my paintings look like in between...a somewhat delicate mess.
(which I oftentimes prefer to the final outcome though...♥)

'Briar Rose-Pixie'
'Kraken-Pixie'
'Lamella-Pixie'
The last one is my personal favourite I guess...what do you think? :)

You can buy prints and greeting cards of these here if you like.

Happy (belated) New Year!!

Hello and a very happy and successful new year to all of you! May it be filled with happiness and wonderful moments. This series of artworks is entitle 'New Years Wishes' and was done for the calendar my siblings and me create for our mum every year as a Christmas present.
I didn't have much time for them so they're quite quick and simple but I still like them..hope you do too. Which one is your favourite? would be interesting to know. :)

A very special happy New Year to my lovely niece who turned 1 a couple of weeks ago. ♥

(By the way, there's 50% off all prints at the moment since I need to move house and everything must go.
Have alook at the SALE section if you're interested. :) )

Location Drawing No. I

This project is called 'Drawing Approaches' and quite a big part of it is location drawing. This means we're encouraged to travel to interesting places and record them in our sketchbooks - is there anything better than being an Illustration student? ^^ If only the weather would be slightly more friendly...
I've discovered the usefulness of water brushes though, which I barely put down these days. They allow me to effortlessly take my water colours everywhere and just start sketching. Brilliant stuff.
Anyway, here are some pages I filled being out and about Bournemouth and Marwell Wildlife. Enjoy.

The book that travels all around the world

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to introduce a very special project to you. This beautiful journal arrived in my mailbox last week - it's a world-travel-book which visited a few people before arriving here and will travel to even more distant places hereafter. On the map inside its cover you can see where it stopped already and the goal is to have marks in as many countries as possible in the end.

This idea has been around for a while and I'm sure some of you have heard of the '1,000 Journals Project', of which I've always been a big fan. Within the community of deviantART though this is the first project of its kind as far as I'm concerned and I'm amazed how many people already signed up to be part of it. At the moment there are two books travelling and a third one is already in progress.
Yes, you can be part of it as well! If you have a deviantART account that is.
Simply follow this link to get to the group and contact the organiser: World-Travel-Book

Now I'm going to show you what I made out of the 4 pages I was allowed to fill. :)

And here are some photographs of the making of these.

May this book be guided by good spirits throughout its journey to distant places - taking our work and hearts with it. ♥
